A vegetable garden at the White House

What a great idea!! Roger Doiron from Maine’s Kitchen Gardeners International is suggesting that the next POTUS plants a vegetable garden to feed the White House.  Now that gets my vote, and the hen’s, too.

But what to put in it? maybe some Brussels Sprouts? Or maybe include a cabbage patch?

That would be a great step in the right direction. We need a petition to sign.

  3. Kathryn Says:

That is absolutely fabulous. Maybe some hoop houses, too?

  4. Ali Says:

Yes, and scarecrows that look like Dick Cheney! Enough to scare any self-respecting varmint away, I’d say.

  5. Vin Says:

How about a Hillary Clinton and Dick Cheney ticket?

That is a fantastic idea! I know the White House has had veg gardens in years past–I was kind of, but not really, surprised to learn that they don’t grow food there anymore. I wonder if Reagan tilled the garden under when he dismantled Jimmy Carter’s solar panels?
