Harvest Monday: And still more tomatoes

While last weeks hot and humid weather wasn’t so great for humans, the garden loved it, and this week’s harvest tally shows just how much love there was — 51 lbs of love, 31 of that in tomatoes, yum.  Those tomatoes became roasted tomato sauce, and the gorgeous peppers, roasted red pepper sauce.  The hens are getting a lot of squash these days, and I’m taking quite a bit to work, too.  This week between Amanda’s wedding and the hot weather, I did not do much cooking.  I’m happy things will be returning to normal soon so I can eat all this delicious produce!

The totals:

Herbs — 12 oz
Broccoli7 oz
Squash 11.25 lbs
Peppers 1.75 lbs
Blueberries 4 oz
Onions 1.3125 lbs
Snap Beans 4.625 lbs
Tomatoes 31 lbs

Total pounds: 472.44

The week’s harvest tally brings the value of my harvests throughout the season to $1570.74  Expenses remained the same at $305.54, bringing the net value to $1,265.20.

This post is part of Daphne’s Dandelions Harvest Monday series.  Check it out and see just how many pounds we gardeners have added to the world this year.

It looks like your garden just keeps adding value with all that productivity. It’s very inspiring to a first year gardener like me, who’s still very much in the red as far as the cost/value ratio is concerned.

All those luscious tomatoes. It looks like your garden is really adding up.

Lucky you to get the heat! We have had virtually none this summer and the tomatoes and peppers are pouting as a result. Great harvest week and the cumulative totals are pretty inspiring too.

Thirty-one pounds of tomatoes, that’s great! And a nice variety of other veggies too.

As kitsapFG said, our summer here in the Pacific Northwest has been underwhelming. I just harvested 5 lbs of tomatoes today, meaning that I’ve harvested maybe a total of 15 so far for the entire season. :(
