Saving grace for a rainy day

Leaden skies, gusty wind and heavy rain were forgotten when I looked in the mailbox today.  The first garden catalog of the season.  Thank you Pine Tree Garden Seeds for brightening my outlook.

Mine arrived down here in Boston on Monday alongside the High Mowing catalog!
I just put the plot to bed on Saturday, such wonderful timing :-)

I also received my Pine Tree catalog but I know that I will not be ordering from them again. I had two separate packs of seeds which proved to be totally nonviable (tested out the rest of the seed pack after multiple failures and they were effectively dead). Still the garden porn of looking at varieties was a welcome relief as the days continue to grow shorter and colder. I am anxiously awaiting Territorial Seeds spring edition which comes out in mid to late December. In the meantime, their fall catalog has a place of honor on the coffee table. :D
